Sovema Group’s representative in the US Terry Hartman will introduce practical tips on Li-ion cell manufacturing and benefits of Solith pilot lines at next educational seminar hosted by the RIT Battery Prototyping Center and Shmuel De-Leon Energy, June 20th and 21st in Rochester, NY.
The topic of this training is “Specific items to consider to mechanically produce a quality cell”. With the support of Solith prototyping equipment installed at the Rochester Institute of Technology (including pouch cell electrode punching, cell stacking, tab welding, and electrolyte filling machines, as well as a pilot line for cylindrical cell assembly), the presentation will focus in detail on:
- Components of cell building (pouch and cylindrical)
- Cell building process (blister forming, punching, stacking, tab trimming, tab welding, sealing, filling, formation, degassing, and sealing)
- Items to know concerning each process that will ensure a quality cell (materials, machine setup, etc.)
- What is important information to provide to machine builders.
This is not the first time Solith participates in RIT training seminars, which are held on a regular basis: we are glad to keep supporting this important research institute after several years of cooperation!
