How to enhance the quality of expanded grids

Have you started noticing open nodes (after formation or from aged batteries), broken wires, “fishbone effect” or narrowing of the size of your expanded grid?

It’s time for a general check-up of your Expanded Metal Line! Here below some tips to prevent the creation of defects on the grid:

#1 REGULAR CHECK-UP

Check regularly the transmission units to ensure that there is no backlash between the organs. Bushing and columns of the expander should be replaced at least once a year.

Have a look at the detailed checking and replacement procedure!

#2 UPGRADE YOUR EQUIPMENT WITH STATE-OF-THE-ART PUNCHES

Since 2019, Sovema has redesigned the expander’s punches to:

  • Improve resistance to wear and tear
  • Provide higher adaptability to working conditions (no need for very precise adjustments)
  • Improve grid quality
  • Keep wires intact

#3 REFURBISH YOUR EXPANDER

A complete refurbishment of your Sovema expander is now easier and faster than ever.

We can provide a complete change-over with a 5-day intervention of Sovema engineer, without stopping your production flow.
